Andrea Lanfri は1986年、イタリアのルッカに生まれました。非常に活発で、トレッキングや山登りが大好きな子どもでした。2015年、Andrea は髄膜炎菌による敗血症のため、両下肢と7本の指を失いました。

1か月間の昏睡状態の後、病院で病気と闘いながら、Andrea は好きなことに復帰することを決意しました。そしてわずか1年後には、競技場でスプリント競技に出場し、イタリアの記録を塗り替えたのです。その後、パラ陸上の欧州選手権(2016、2018）、世界選手権(2017)では、銀メダルと銅メダルを獲得しています。

Andrea はすぐに登山への情熱にも目を向け、発病から7年後、登山パートナーのLuca Montanari とともにエベレスト山頂に立ちました。Andrea はエベレスト山頂に到達した最初の多肢切断者となりました。彼は、Össur Pro-Flex® LP Align 、Pro-Flex® XC 、 Iceross® ライナーを使って、その偉業を成し遂げました。

Andrea は優れた登山家であり、#My7Summits プロジェクトを通じて、7大陸の最高峰を極めることを目標としています。

エベレスト(2022)に加え、モンブラン(2020)、キリマンジャロ(2022)、ケニア山(2022)、最近ではアコンカグア山(2023)にも登頂しています。

2023年には、彼が"Tutto Climb" と呼んでいる、北欧で最も困難とされる3つの氷壁と岩壁を上るプロジェクトを含めた、更なる登頂が予定されています。

2018年、Andrea は自伝"Voglio correre più veloce della meningite（私は髄膜炎より速く走りたい）"を出版しました。2021年には、2冊目となる"Toccare il cielo con tre dita（3本の指で空に触れる）"も出版しています。

  At 05.40 Nepalese time, Andrea Lanfri and Luca Montanari reach the summit of Mount Everest (8849 m) becoming the first athlete in the world with multiple amputations to reach the top of the world, realizing his dream "Touching the sky with three fingers".
  The Guinness World Record organization has officially recognized Andrea’s two records during this expedition:
  Running the fastest mile at high altitude (5160m) in 9 minutes and 48 seconds on blades and becoming the first athlete in the world with multiple amputations to reach the top of the world.
