Team Össur Athletes Set Recent New World and National Records Wearing ‘Gold Standard’ Cheetah Prosthetic Blades


Several members of Team Össur have delivered world-class performances while competing in Össur’s iconic gold-standard Cheetah prosthetic blades recently, setting the stage for an especially thrilling 2025 World Para Athletes Championships scheduled to take place in New Delhi, India next month.

Global Athletes Continue Excelling

Reigning Paralympic double gold medalist sprinter and long jumper Fleur Jong of The Netherlands set her latest World Record in women’s long jump T62 with a distance of 6.86m at the Golden Roof Challenge in Innsbruck, Austria this past June. Jong also set another World Record in the women’s 100m with a time of 12:02 in the T64 category at the Dutch National Para Athletics Championships in Hengelo on August 3. The “Blade Jumper,” legendary Paralympic long jump champion Markus Rehm of Germany, also won the men’s long jump at the Para Leichtathletik Heimspiel in Leverkusen, Germany with a distance of 8.36m – T64.

At the 2025 Canadian Track & Field Championships, Canadian sprinter Marissa Papaconstantinou set a new national record in the 100m T64 category with her winning time of 12.84.

U.S. Athletes Compete in Historic Event

For the first time in history, USA Track & Field (USATF) combined its traditional Outdoor Championships with the U.S. Para Track & Field National Championships, enabling both able-bodied and other-abled athletes to compete concurrently at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. U.S. Team Össur members cemented their place in history with exceptional performance in several categories, including:

  • Beatriz Hatz, double gold medals in the Women’s 100m and Women’s Long Jump –T64
  • Hunter Woodhall, double gold medals in the Men’s 100m and Men’s 400m – T62
  • Derek Loccident, gold medal in Men’s Long Jump, bronze medal in the Men’s 100m – T64/F64
  • Noelle Lambert, silver medal in Women’s 100m – T63
  • Trenten Merrill, silver medal in Men’s Long Jump – F64

All of these athletes were named to the 2025 USATF Para World Championships Roster and will represent Team USA at the 2025 Para Athletics World Championships later this year.
