In March 2025, the Ossur distribution centre in Eindhoven NL, was audited and successfully maintained its ISO 14001 certification, ensuring that our environmental policies, procedures, and practices align with the required standard. The audit is a third-party assessment conducted by a certification body to verify our compliance with the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS).

The Eindhoven-based warehouse is one of our two largest distribution centres and serves Europe, the Middle East, Brazil, Asia and Africa.

The assessment ensures that:

  • The certification scope and required standards are effectively addressed by our systems
  • Our EMS systems can support the achievement of statutory, regulatory and contractual requirements
  • The forward strategic plan is achievable and applicable
  • The objectives set out in our Sustainability Policy are monitored fairly and timely

The British Standards Institution carry out the assessment every two years. It is not a mandatory requirement but certification helps us to reduce waste, minimise our environmental risks, comply with regulations, and reach the goals set out in our Responsible for Tomorrow programme.

Only one minor non-conformity was raised, which is to create a climate change assessment. Minor non-conformities do not significantly affect the system but do require correction and can include documentation errors, isolated incidents on non-compliance, or lack of employee awareness in certain areas, while major non-conformities mean that most of the operation or objective is not met and can be the cause of a critical issue.
