Anne's Story
For Anne, the right choice of liner (and prosthesis) not only provides a practical solution, but a great addition to her life, too.
Wearing the Iceross Seal-In® TF liner, Anne believes that her prosthetic liner is more than a medical device -- it is a part of herself, a ‘Perfect Part of Me’ that gives her freedom and independence, allowing her to continue doing what she loves most: Being an active mother.
“At first, I thought a liner was just a liner. But now I realise how important it is to look for that perfect fit.”

How I Got A Liner
My first prosthesis was without a liner; my leg was directly in the socket. Unfortunately, this caused a lot of discomfort. I had constant skin problems, especially inflammation in my groin. For someone like me, who likes to be active, this was very limiting. Through Össur, I was introduced to a completely new system: Direct Socket combined with a liner. This turned out to be a huge improvement.
With the liner, I not only got fewer skin problems, but also a much better fit of my prosthesis. It felt like I was killing two birds with one stone. This new combination fitted perfectly into my life, allowing me to resume my active lifestyle. The biggest advantage was that I was no longer dependent on a wheelchair. I now wear my prosthesis continuously, giving me the freedom to do anything I want. This change has dramatically improved my life.
“These days, it is even more important to me that my prosthesis fits perfectly. Not only because I have to stay mobile all day myself, but also because my baby depends on me. ”

The Liner's Role in My Daily Life and Motherhood
When I became pregnant, I worried a lot at first. Would I be mobile enough to take care of a baby? Would I be able to do everything on my own? The idea that I was missing a leg made me insecure. But those worries turned out to be largely unfounded. Motherhood is actually going really well, and there are few situations where we do not find solutions to the challenges we face.
These days, it is even more important to me that my prosthesis fits perfectly. Not only because I have to stay mobile all day myself, but also because my baby depends on me. If something goes wrong with my leg, it directly affects her. Therefore, it is crucial that everything fits well and that I have the right support.
At first, I thought a liner was just a liner. I didn't know there were different options and that I could choose what suited me best. But now I realise how important it is to look for that perfect fit. This is also my advice to others. Try different options and choose what really suits you. That choice can make a big difference in how you feel every day and can follow your passions.
