What Is Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month?
LLLDAM is a nationwide awareness initiative led by the Amputee Coalition and observed every April. The month is dedicated to increasing understanding of limb loss and limb difference, amplifying voices within the community, and fostering inclusion, access, and opportunity. Celebrating 40 Years — Your Way: “Show Us Your 40”
To celebrate its 40th anniversary, the Amputee Coalition is inviting everyone to participate through the theme “Celebrating 40 Years — Your Way.” There is no single path to participation—only an open invitation to Show Us Your 40. [40years.am...lition.org]
That “40” might look like:
- 40 movements—big or small
- $40 raised or donated
- 40 acts of kindness
- Creative expression through the Mixed Medium Art Challenge
- Supporting the Proclamation Challenge
- Showing your mettle through movement, mobility, or self‑expression
- Becoming a Certified Peer Visitor (CPV)
- Or creating something uniquely your own
