Advance Payment from CMS

CMS has expanded the current Advance Payment Program during the COVID-19 public health emergency to extend financial hardship relief to impacted Medicare suppliers.

In order to qualify, the supplier must:

• Have billed Medicare for claims within 180 days
• Not be in bankruptcy
• Not be under active medical review or program integrity investigation
• Not have any outstanding delinquent Medicare overpayments

 Repayment, through the recoupment process, will begin 120 days after receipt and the full balance must be paid within 210 days of receiving the advanced payment.
