Canoe single, 200m

Caio had a motorcycle accident in Rio which resulted in an above knee amputation. He was an active athlete before the accident and wanted to continue being active and chose to become a para-canoe athlete. Shortly after starting his career as para-canoe athlete he became the world champion. ​He won the bronze medal in the 200m para-canoe at the Olympics in Rio in 2016. Caio also competes for Brazil’s national able bodied canoe team. He practices both in Brazil and Japan. But focuses a lot on his motivational speaking in Japan where he speaks to students, especially in preparation of the sports and athletics educational program.
