Össur is joining the ranks of other world-class brands as an official Partner of DIF, the Danish National Olympic Committee & Sports Confederation.

DIF, which coordinates with 9,000 in-country sports organizations and a membership of nearly 2 million people, is dedicated to further developing Danish society by promoting the importance of physical activity as a national priority. It serves a wide range of the Danish population, from supporting elite athletes who participate in global competitions such as The Olympics and World Cup, to grassroots work that empowers at-risk youth and adults who typically have fewer opportunities to experience the benefits of regular physical activity and sports.

“We are pleased to be partnering with DIF, which represents a new and exciting chapter for Össur in Denmark. Our organizations share a common mission: to champion physical activity and help more people live a life without limitations. We salute DIF’s efforts to encourage the sense of joy, community and achievement that comes from participating in sports, and look forward to supporting DIF‘s overall efforts to create optimal conditions for athletes at all levels,” said Jon Sigurdsson, President and CEO of Össur.

World-renowned for helping improve people’s mobility through innovative technologies in the fields of Prosthetics and Bracing & Supports, Össur has been a trusted resource for Danish healthcare professionals and their patients for decades, and has been publicly traded on Nasdaq Copenhagen under the symbol OSSR since 2009.

Among the elite athletes who favor Össur’s iconic Cheetah® running prostheses is renowned Danish Paralympian Daniel Wagner Jörgensen, who is one of few people in the world to qualify for both Winter and Summer Paralympic Games. At the 2018 Paralympics in Pyeongchang, Jörgensen was the only Danish snowboarder chosen to represent Team Denmark, and also honored as the country’s flag-bearer in the Opening Ceremonies. At the 2016 Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro, Jörgensen was the Silver medalist in the 100m Sprint, and Bronze medalist in the T42 Long Jump.

Jörgensen is also a long-standing member of Team Össur, which is comprised of some of the most accomplished and inspirational athletes in the world, all of whom choose Össur technologies in their quest for the podium. In addition to the Cheetah® running prostheses used by Jörgensen and many other world-class competitors, Össur makes the Unloader One® knee brace, which has been clinically proven to reduce pain and improve functionality for people with knee Osteoarthritis, a leading cause of disability among adults worldwide. The company also recently launched its new Össur Formfit® Pro line of 3D compressive knit solutions, which has been designed for people who may be suffering from various musculoskeletal conditions or ailments yet remain passionate about staying active.

“We welcome Össur to DIF and are very proud that the company has chosen to support DIF's efforts to enhance parasports in Denmark. Both of our organizations believe that parasport can inspire Danes, and we look forward to cooperating with Össur to give many more people the opportunity to learn about and appreciate the inspirational stories of our parathletes,” said Morten Mølholm Hansen, CEO of DIF.
