AOPA Congress 2022

The Össur team was honoured to present at the recent AOPA Congress 2022 held in Melbourne from 13-15 October. The event was a huge success and included presentations covering bracing options for amputees and conservative management of ACL injuries from the bracing team. Our prosthetics team presented on the Power Knee and Össur prosthetic solutions through the clinical journey.

Neelesh Ravikumar presented his expertise on orthotic management of the contralateral limb for amputees, providing options to assist with ligament injuries and osteoarthritis. Tim Amor presented on how Orthotists use products such as the Rebound® Post Op Knee and Rebound® ACL and their involvement in ACL management and how they can assist their patients to achieve their best outcomes.

The Power Knee workshop presented by Clinical specialist Lizzie Carey and OAM Physiotherapist Cathy Howells covered the medical benefits, and functions as well as a live demonstration of training tips about progression onto the Power Knee. The workshop included a live demonstration of the Power Knee performing correct techniques used on level ground walking, resisted gait training, and how to stand up and sit down.

Össur prosthetic solutions through the clinical journey was presented by Clinical specialists Laura Roberts, Sarah Mulroy-Lang and OAM Cathy Howells. The workshop highlighted the different stages of care including Post-Op Care, rehabilitation, and Lifelong Care. A range of Össur products were featured such as Post-op liners, Össur rigid dressing, Connect®TF and Össur leg solutions. Tips and tricks for gait training for transtibial and transfemoral amputees on different Össur products were also featured.
