In 2015, just one week after celebrating my 18th birthday, my life took an unexpected turn when I suffered an injury during a football match. This incident led to the discovery of a cancerous tumor, resulting in a below-the-knee amputation. Initially, I felt overwhelmed by confusion and fear about what lay ahead.
My perspective began to change during my time at the rehabilitation center in France, where I met a woman who had undergone a double tibial amputation. Her strength and resilience made me realize that I had much to be grateful for, despite my own challenges.
The turning point for me was when I received my first prosthesis. This moment marked the beginning of my professional reintegration and reignited my motivation. I decided to pursue a career in prosthetics and secured an internship at an orthopedic company as a prosthetist technician. This role allowed me to help others like myself, giving me a sense of purpose.
