How is Proprio Foot different than a traditional mechanical prosthetic foot?
Proprio Foot uses a powered ankle unit to provide increased range of motion, active toe-lift, and pre-positioning in addition to the benefits of our Pro-Flex carbon foot technology. All of these features were designed to allow you to walk more naturally.
Is Proprio Foot right for me?
Clinically, Proprio Foot is for people with unilateral or bilateral amputations above or below the knee. The best way to understand the benefits of Proprio Foot is to discuss it with your prosthetist and try it for yourself!
Is Proprio Foot covered by insurance?
Under certain criteria, Proprio Foot is covered by most major insurance providers, including Medicare. If your prosthetic provider is unsure about getting Proprio Foot covered by your insurance, Össur provides reimbursement support and guidance.
