On Second Thought ...

Posted by David McGill | February 07, 2017

Last week we told you about "Round 2019" of the competitive bidding program. Today, CMS announced that it will "temporarily delay moving forward" with Round 2019 in order "to allow the new administration further opportunity to review the program."

The delay is not entirely surprising. Healthcare remains a volatile topic in D.C., as President Trump and Republican leaders in Congress now appear to be backing off their aggressive "repeal and replace" timeline. In addition, the administration likely wants this and other CMS programs reviewed by the yet-to-be-confirmed Secretary of Health and Human Services and CMS Administrator.

We will keep you apprised of new developments regarding Competitive Bidding as information becomes available.
