Getting the balance right

A liner, for example, needs to protect vulnerable skin, and the socket should be easy to use and provide secure suspension. A prosthetic knee, if required, should offer effective stability and support for confident single-speed ambulation, while a foot module should deliver a level of energy return that is in proportion to the activity and load.
