Sukhwinder Singh's Story

I am a right below knee amputee and I had the privilege of attending the first ever Mobility Clinic on the Snow in August 2019. It was an amazing experience to learn the basic skills of snowboarding at this Clinic, which I would not have been able to learn on my own. I would have given up after my first fall!

At this Clinic we had one-on-one training with Disabled Wintersport Australia (DWA) Guides who were very supportive and encouraging. For someone like me who’s never been skiing, within two days I was able to snowboard down the slopes, which was a lot of fun. Learning a new sport like snowboarding amongst an amputee community has been very comforting knowing I was not the only one trying to learn something new, but we were all learning together and can relate to each other. Like Össur’s other Mobility Clinics, Mobility Clinic on the Snow was a great experience, I cannot wait to go to the snow again and ski with my family and develop on my skills.
