April Holmes is a published author, podcaster, Paralympian, World Record-holding athlete, and World Champion sprinter. Despite losing her leg below-the-knee in a 2001 train accident, April continued her athletic pursuits, winning a Bronze Medal in women’s Long Jump at the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens, Greece. She won the Gold Medal in the 100m during the 2008 Paralympics in Beijing, China, and a Bronze Medal in the 100m during the 2012 Paralympics in London, England.
April, who wears Össur’s Pro-Flex XC for daily activities and Cheetah Xtreme for sports, is inspired by the new amputees and people with disabilities she gets to meet, and continues assisting people with physical and learning disabilities through her non-profit organization, the April Holmes Foundation and her podcast, “Run For Your Life.”
