Surprise Give and Össur Running and Mobility Clinic Presented by CAF in Birmingham, Alabama

Lakeshore Foundation in Birmingham, Alabama hosted its first Össur Running and Mobility Clinic, welcoming over two dozen amputees. These free clinics are intended to help amputees achieve their running and mobility goals–whether that’s learning to walk again or fine-tuning their sprinting skills. Össur clinicians were also available to answer questions and offer support. Four time Paralympian, World Record holder and Team Össur member, April Holmes also attended and participated in the give presentation.

Össur kicked off the clinic with a surprise give to Madalyn Hines, a 5-year-old native of Montgomery, Alabama who was born with proximal femoral focal deficiency (PFFD), a congenital condition that necessitated amputation when she was 1. Madalyn received an Össur Flex-Run Junior™ which will enable her to keep doing the things she enjoys, performing and going to the beach with her family. Special thanks to Ben Percival, LPO and Alabama Artificial Limb & Orthopedic Service for making Madalyn’s give possible.
