This past Saturday, July 22, Össur hosted its first mobility clinic in Minnesota, attracting over 30 participants with limb loss who wanted to improve their mobility and connect with the local amputee community. These free clinics are intended to help amputees achieve their running and mobility goals–whether that’s learning to walk again or fine-tuning their sprinting skills. Össur clinicians were also available to answer questions about our products and services.

Össur surprised Tommy Bunkers of New Hope, MN with a Flex-Run with Nike sole. The 18-year-old was diagnosed with cavernous lympangioma and subsequently decided to have his left foot amputated at age 6. Tommy will use his new Össur running foot to play ultimate frisbee, rock climb, mountain bike, and a whole host of other activities as he begins Normandale Community College in the fall. He plans to study Biology and Physical Therapy at the University of Minnesota.

Össur has partnered with CAF for more than 20 years. Since 1971, the Icelandic company has been dedicated to developing technologies that help people enjoy ‘Life Without Limitations.’ Each year, hundreds of people with limb loss participate in Össur Running and Mobility Clinics presented by CAF across the U.S.
