Iceross® Transfemoral Seal-In™
The new Iceross Transfemoral Seal-In Liner represents a major advance in suction suspension technology. It eliminates the need for complicated donning procedures or donning aids - the user can just roll it on and then simply STEP IN AND GO.
Suction sockets no longer require a time-consuming, complicated donning procedure. With the Iceross Transfemoral Seal-In Liner, it's now a simple, straightforward process. The user simply rolls on the liner, steps into the socket, and an integrated Hypobaric Sealing Membrane (HSM) automatically creates a firm suspension. To remove the socket, the user just pushes a button.
It's that simple.

Advanced Technology That's Easy to Live With
Iceross Seal-In Liners incorporate a hypobaric sealing membrane (HSM) that conforms to the shape of the internal socket wall, providing an airtight seal. The HSM location is critical, and is specifically calculated to ensure the air is expelled quickly (in one or two steps) through a distally positioned expulsion valve*.
The hypobaric condition below the membrane ensures good suspension and rotational control of the prosthesis. The pressure will always be inversely proportion to the suspension force needed, ensuring superior stability, comfort, and control. The socket is released with a push of a button. It couldn't be more simple. It also couldn't be more comfortable, because the liner is made of DermoSil Silicone with Active Skin Care, promoting skin health while moisturising and soothing the skin.
* Ossur recommends the use of valve L-542000, Valve 542
Hypobaric Sealing Membrane (HSM)
Patented sealing system, made of proprietary silicone blend, is bonded distally to the liner
- Conforms to socket shape, creating firm suspension
- Integrated recess provides even pressure around the seal
- Maintains firm suspension even through limb volume fluctuations
- Rotational stability is enhanced by the seal and distal pad adhesion
- With the HSM, the hypobaric pressure will always be in direct proportion to the suspension force needed, ensuring superior stability, comfort, and control
When fitting the Iceross Seal-In Liner
When fitting the Iceross Seal-In Liner a one-way, auto expulsion valve with push-button suction release MUST be used.
Why?
Because a standard one-way valve without a release mechanism feature to allow air back into the socket will not allow the socket to be removed.
Icelock® Expulsion Valve 542
The Icelock expulsion valve 542 is precision engineered, simple to install and designed specifically to be used with the Iceross Seal-In Transfemoral liner. It provides auto expulsion and push-button suction release.
