Blake Leeper was born with a birth defect that has caused him to wear prosthetics since the age of 9 months. Still with the ambition of playing sports Blake grew up playing basketball and baseball alongside his fellow peers, also he played varsity basketball for his high school team.

Recently he decided to pick up the sport track and field. Running his first race last June of 2009 with a time of 11.96 in the 100 meters qualified him for the U.S Paralympic team. Short after, in August of 2009, he ran his first international meet  in Rio De Janerio, Brazil were he ran a 23.59 in the 200m and a 11.76 in the 100m. His goal is to compete in the 2012 paralympics.
