Thank you as always for your support, collaboration and inspiration. This year, we have been as busy as ever, improving people’s mobility with products and services that make a real difference.
A big round of applause goes to all our partners and Team Össur members for their outstanding endeavors. Their achievements remind us all how proud we are to be in this business. Our sponsored athletes once again dominated the winners’ podium at the IPC World Championships in July. Co-hosting with the fantastic Challenged Athletes Foundation, we had a successful running and mobility clinic in October for survivors of the Boston bombings. In September, we supported Richard Whitehead as he ran the length of the UK, the equivalent of 40 marathons in 40 days. We were also very excited to be named an official provider to “Walking with the Wounded” on their 2013 expedition to the South Pole.
From a strategic perspective, we were pleased to strengthen our operations with the acquisition in October of TeamOlmed, Sweden's largest provider of O&P solutions. With more than 300 employees in a number of patient care centers, TeamOlmed is already making a valuable contribution to our business. We also warmly welcome our new colleagues from other companies acquired in 2013 in Norway and Brazil.
Product-wise, we have seen some significant launches in 2013, including the Unity advanced vacuum suspension system, which has been very well received, and an updated version of our flagship ligament brace CTi. We continue to focus our efforts keenly on our premium designs, always pushing for greater innovation and better outcomes. Moving forward, we will be dividing our bracing and supports range and creating a dual emphasis on OA solutions, helping people living with osteoarthritis to access a more active lifestyle; and Injury solutions, for those recovering from injuries.
Thanks again for your involvement with Össur, it’s been a pleasure. We hope you enjoy the holidays and wish you a very healthy and happy new year.
