Coordinate Cast system

The Coordinate Cast System™ - CCS - works with all custom knee braces from Ossur.

This convenient system allows us to provide the quality workmanship that makes Ossur braces superior.

  1. Measuring and marking
     

    A. Mark the patient's leg at mid-patella.
     
    B. Measure and mark 3, 6 and 8 inches above and below mid-patella.
     
     
     
    1b With the ankle held at 90 degrees, record the circumference in centimeters at each of the marked increments onto the CCS patient information form.C.   2. 2a. Center patient leg with mid-patella mark on line 5 of the tracing board (you can use the centerline on the tracing tube to help align the mid-patella directly on line 5).Tracing
     
    A. Center the patient's leg with mid-patella mark on line 5 of the tracing board (you can use the centerline on the tracing tube to help align the mid-patella directly on line 5).
     
     
     
    If patient has excessive tissue, use the knee center block to raise the knee off the board. This helps to maintain proper profile of the leg.

    3. On the CCS patient information form, record the number where the tracing line intersects at each of the 9 coordinate lines for sides A and B.
    B. At the top of the board, hold the base of the tracing device flat on the board with the pen tip facing the leg. Keep in light contact with the leg while tracing the profile down to the bottom of the board.

      
    C. Without moving the leg, repeat on the other side.
     
  3. Recording coordinates
     
    A. On the CCS patient information form, record the number where the tracing line intersects at each of the nine coordinate lines for sides A and B.
     
  4. Complete patient information on the CCS form and the Ossur Generation II order form.Place order
     
    A. Complete the Ossur order form.
