DME Medicare Administrative Contractors

​The Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) uses four Durable Medical Equipment Medicare Administrative Contractors (DME MACs) to process Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies (DMEPOS) claims for Medicare payment.  The appropriate carriers are determined based on where the beneficiary who received DMEPOS lives.
